    Self-defense training course was introduced.

    Department of social development decided to organise a proper self defense course for the students of IIT bhilai so they can learn about the fighting and defense training and to make them use for good purposes.

  • February 15, 2020

    Village surveys were included in NSS activities.

    After adoption of five villages (i.e., Gadaghat,Kherdhi,Birejhar,Dandesara and Sejbahar) by our institute, NSS-IIT Bhilai started doing surveys on regular basis to identify the problems that villagers were facing. Department of social development,nss-iitbhilai organised all these surveys with the help of some faculty members and volunteers.

    Eductional tours were added.

    The education department of IIT Bhilai started tinkering lab visit to help the students in nearby schools in making various projects.

  • January 18-19, 2020

    Health and Safety Weekend were added.

    Department of social development started organising safety weeked as a compulsory activity under NSS.Experts from various fields such as medical,police,fire fighting etc. in order to make the students of IIT Bhilai aware about the various health and safety skills.

  • January 13, 2020

    New departments were introduced

    General Secretaries of NSS decided to introduce three departments along with various new positions of responsibilities in the NSS. Social development,Education and Environment are the names of those newly introduced departments.

  • October 11, 2019

    An initiative named Muskaan was launched.

    We hope to bring smiles to those who reside in orphanages and old-age homes. NSS team organized a visit to both – old age homes and orphanages on the 27th of October 2019. Muskaan includes conducting a small interactive session with the residents followed by presenting them with gifts. Those gifts were collected as part of a collection drive - conducted in-campus leading up till the day of Diwali.

    Credit system was introduced

    For the smooth conduct and to increase the participation in NSS activities, credit system was introduced. With this new system, NSS will be treated as a course of 8 credits. An individual needs to complete 15 hours to pass in each credit of NSS.

    Prashant Kumar and Ashutosh Sahu were selected as General secretaries of NSS.
